Tobacco Testimonies from Scott County Students

Several of my relatives smoke and the second hand smoke aggravates my contacts. My cholesterol levels are also elevated because of the smoke. I don’t like it.

Both my parents smoked. I was born with crossed eyes, which is a common occurrence among babies whose mothers smoke while pregnant.

I hate going to the bowling alley to have a good time with my friends and coming out smelling like an ash tray.

My grandpa died from lung cancer which was very painful for him and our family.

Smoking should not be allowed in public places because it is harming innocent people.

A good quote once said, “Having a smoking section in a restaurant is like having a peeing section in a pool.”

My grandfather smokes and every time we go over to his house I have to wear old clothes because it smells so bad. He has been smoking for so long that it would be very hard for him to quit.

I think that it is a good idea to ban smoking from restaurants because if people can’t wait an hour to smoke then they need to try and find help to stop the nicotine control on them.

I think that smoking or any use of tobacco should be illegal. It is like slowly committing suicide. I think that people should think about what they are doing to themselves and how it is affecting other people around them and make the right decision NOT to smoke.

My grandfather has smoked a pipe for as long as I can remember. He is now very sick and has made my grandmother sick. She now has emphysema and has trouble staying active and traveling.

My Uncle died of a heart attack at 47 years of age. He had been smoking for many years. He survived wrestling a bear when he was younger but was beaten by a stupid little stick (cigarette).
